AIOZ Network is proud to announce the unveiling of “Guide3D: A Bi-planar X-ray Dataset for 3D Shape Reconstruction”, a landmark result of our collaborative partnership with the University of Liverpool, Imperial College London, University of Information Technology - VNUHCM, University of Aberdeen, and the University of Arkansas.

This achievement, showcased at the Asian Conference on Computer Vision @ACCVConf 2024, marks a pivotal step in harnessing AI-driven endovascular navigation and sets a strong foundation for a future powered by intelligent, autonomous medical agents.

Transforming Endovascular Navigation Through Data

In endovascular procedures, surgeons must guide flexible tools like catheters and guidewires through intricate vascular pathways using only 2D imaging.

Depth perception is inherently limited, often obscuring the complexity of the tool’s shape and position. Guide3D tackles this limitation head-on by delivering a large-scale, manually annotated bi-planar dataset.

This resource opens the door for developers and researchers to devise AI models that not only visualize surgical tools in 3D but also predict their positioning and shape dynamically over time.

By enabling robust 3D reconstruction, Guide3D helps ensure that surgeons have the spatial insight needed to navigate with greater confidence, accuracy, and efficiency, ultimately advancing patient safety and surgical outcomes.
